Manual therapies and biodiscipline

Inside the wellness area of the Colonìa Resort, our therapists await you to present all the treatments; you can book them directly at the check-in, at the reception of the Resort.

Postural massages

Massage therapy is a rehabilitative and preventive (health) medicine. It is based on a set of different maneuvers performed on the muscles, fascias and joints of the body. It aims to alleviate muscle or joint pain, loosen somato-emotional tensions, dissolve contractures (widely used in athletes) and improve trophism / muscle tone. Useful in cases of cervicalgia, lumbago, treatment of postoperative scars and to improve the circulation of blood and lymph.

Craniosacral therapy

Cranio-sacral therapy is a technique of re-harmonization of the cranio-sacral rhythm. This rhythm is at the base of a mechanism of circulation of the “liquor” (cerebral-spinal fluid) along the vertebral column and then from the skull to the sacrum. This rhythm is connected through the various structures of the organism, to the nervous, circulatory-lymphatic system, to the musculoskeletal system, to the endocrine system and to the respiratory system. This technique, painless and non-invasive, is suitable to support some acute disorders such as: sciatica, migraines, temporomandibular joint problems, anxiety / panic attacks.

Specialized kinesiology

Kinesiology is a holistic discipline based on the principle of correspondence between muscles, organs and meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Use the “muscle test” as an instrument because, according to M.T.C. if the meridian energy and the function of the associated organ are in
balance, the basic tone of the muscles related to them will also be normal, while their imbalance will cause a difference in muscle tone and muscle response speed.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a manual therapy, complementary to classical medicine. This method is based on manual contact for evaluation and treatment. It is a form of assistance focused on the patient’s health rather than on the disorder; makes use of a causal and non-symptomatic approach (often the cause of pain finds its location away from the painful area), looking for the functional alterations of the body that lead to signs and symptoms that can then lead to pains of various kinds.

Painless diacutaneous fibromyolysis

Painless (diacutaneous) fibrolysis is a non-invasive soft tissue treatment technique that makes use of specific specifically designed devices (fibroliser hooks). This technique is used for the management of certain diseases of the musculoskeletal system (fascia, muscle, tendon) related to algic and / or functional deficiency symptoms.

Kinesio taping

The technique, developed more than 25 years ago by Dr. Kenzo Kase, is a particular elastic adhesive bandage with bio-mechanical effect, nowadays very well known and used in sports environments. It is a technique used above all as post-treatment support, yet capable of stimulating the healing process of the body, favoring the activation of neurological systems and fluids (blood and lymph).
