Conegliano and the grape festival

In September, nearby Conegliano hosts the now traditional Grape Festival. This event showcases award-winning wines from the EnoConegliano wine competition. More than three hundred labels can be tasted at this event, and not only from the Veneto region, as each year the organizers partner with another Italian region, offering the opportunity to make new discoveries and create new pairings.

Numerous food stands are also set up in the city center streets, a veritable parade of typical products and local cuisine! In short, if a country is known through its food and wine, this is an opportunity not to be missed!

Chestnut Festival in Combai

Combai is a small town along the Prosecco wine route. For over seventy years, the Marroni festival has been held in October. Marroni are not exactly chestnuts, although they belong to the same family. They are slightly larger and have a more rounded, heart-like shape. They are sweeter and crunchier than chestnuts. They are the favorite fruit of pastry chefs for making marron glacé, cakes, and ice cream, and are also used in cooking to create new recipes with meats and risottos. Visitors will find food stands, guided tours, and stands selling jams, flours, and much more. Gourmets will also find corners where they can sample authentic delicacies such as Marroni Pasticcio (a type of chestnut pie), Marroni Stew, Sausages, and Marroni Pastin (a type of sweetened chestnut pasty).

Exhibition of Childhood Illustrations

Sarmede is a small town a few kilometers from Vittorio Veneto. It became world-famous for being home, until his death, to the great illustrator Štěpán Zavřel. Walking through the streets of the town center, you can spot houses with illustrated walls here and there, each telling a story, in the magical language of fairy tales. Next to the Town Hall stands the House of Fantasy, a museum dedicated to the world of children’s illustration that

every year hosts an international exhibition showcasing the works of the world’s most famous illustrators. From October to January, you can attend workshops, animated readings, and performances. The museum also houses a bookstore offering a wonderful selection of high-quality children’s books, almost impossible to find in other shops in the city. For anyone with children, it’s truly an unmissable event, and for adults, it’s certainly an opportunity to keep dreaming!

Uto Ughi – concert at the Follina Abbey

Uto Ughi’s concert, accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Rome, inside the magnificent Abbey of Santa Maria di Follina is truly an unmissable event.

The great Maestro has been reaffirming this November concert for 25 years now. The Abbey is truly a magical place, with extraordinary acoustics that make the music sublime and captivating. Besides being a high-profile musical event, it is also a truly social occasion. Tickets are sold in advance and are always sold out. The 2018 date is November 23rd.

Uto Ughi is considered one of the greatest violinists of our time. He plays a 1744 Guarnieri del Gesù and a 1701 Stradivarius.
